![]() ![]() Plus i really like the table feature, it made my budget so easy to track ! I work of my own and i have a lot of different customers, i feel like Notion is the best thing to separate all of my pro stuff and my personnal stuff while having everything in the same app. ![]() I use Notion app because i was looking for an app which i can use on all of my devices and replace my physical bullet journal. Still, it would be healthy to always consume such content with skepticism because perceived complexity is how they make their living, so overengineering is a viable strategy for them, but shouldn't be for you. P.S.: I don't think those YTs are all that bad, I think these productivity channels are good for introducing people to the concepts of self organizing and they teach cool stuff Notion can do, so I don't diss them as useless or quacks. It's because it's a decent combination of a lot functionalities, making it a hammer that Gurus will use to hit all nails and screws. So it's not because of a marketing campaign and it's not because it's so much better either. ![]() I only use it for note taking and personal blogging. I prefer FantastiCal + OmniFocus + Timery/Toggl. I don't use it for events, neither for tasks, nor tracking. There are much better apps for most of what Notion does. Productivity Gurus are inclined towards tools that combine functionality because it's easier to sell the concept of organizing everything but having to "learn only one thing"™. Its success with productivity youtubers comes from its centralizing nature. Having pretty much everything in the one application is great for productivity because it allows you to focus on the things you need to specialise in, instead of spending all your time learning and switching between applications that you only use for a limited purpose, not to mention the hassle of getting access to your google sheets data in a written document or whatnot. The major benefit comes from not having to have a different application for every little thing that you want to do a bit of - Notion does most of it, and generally quite well. Sure the databases might not be as good at calculations as google sheets, but if calculations are something you do a lot of then you'll likely want a dedicated thing for that anyway. Notion's main selling point is the idea that instead of having to integrate all your different applications to do what you want, you can use just one application that's 'good enough' at most of what you want to do. ![]()
